Saturday, October 3, the Bears hit the road to Massena Central. The Bears worked hard to pull out a win for this game but did not get the result they wanted and ended with a 35-7 loss.
The Bears tried to get a win but didn’t play well enough to get it. Coach Chad Kenna stated that they had small wins with underclassmen getting playing time due to injuries. This game gave the younger guys a chance to prove themselves on the field.
Kenna shared that he believes they aren’t far off from being successful, and that throughout the game the Bears stayed healthy which is a needed aspect of the game for the rest of the season.
The Bears have a strong positive drive in every part of the game and never lose it. They want to win and will continue to work hard until they do. The core of the team is relentless from their work ethic, to their passion for the game, says Kenna.
The Bears made a slight change this game and found their kicker in Will Alguire. When opportunities present themselves the Bears take them. Making sure to find a place for everyone on the team. Will Alguire becoming the kicker for the Bears will up their scoring opportunities.
The Bears are always working to improve and better their game. When mistakes are made they work to fix them until they no longer occur. Not only do they work to be better on the field but also off the field. The stated goal of the team is to produce strong, confident young men. Not only will that create dividends for the team, but that culture lasts a lifetime, says Kenna.
These games for the Bears produce character and growth. After every game the Bears will spend the week improving and fixing in order to be better for the next game. With this positive and strong outlook coming out of the games the Bears are not far from a win. They are set to play next Saturday, October 10 at 1:30 against Ogdensburg.
