Celebration After Jenna Larrabee Homerun
Canton traveled to Lowville, New York to play in the third annual Lyndecker Tournament, named after a former coach who passed away three years ago. Lyndecker was a great Aunt of Bears second baseman, Aida Baker. The three team round robin tournament was all played on Lowville’s all turf field.
Game One:
Lowville 9 Canton 8
The Bears suffered their first loss of the season to Lowville by the score of 8-9. Canton continued to score runs and hit line drives all over the field but it was one bad inning on the defensive side that cost them in the end. In the bottom of the fifth inning the Bears made four of their seven team errors coupled with mental mistakes allowing Lowville to score six runs and take the lead.

Emma Bradish-Hayes (17)
“That is a game that I thought we could win. We just kicked the ball around in one inning and gave up six runs on four errors, just lost our focus. I thought we hit the ball hard and Elle White threw a great game. Their centerfielder made a couple nice catches in deep center to keep us from having a big inning. As a team we need to pick our teammates up after they make a mistake so it doesn’t spread. I have to remember its a game and we are learning every day.” from Coach Mike Wentworth
Elle White threw a complete game from the circle, striking out five and only allowing three hits.
Tessa Alguire lead Canton on offense against Lowville collecting two hits, including an RBI double. Elise Harris also belted a three run double.
Game Two
Canton 15 Thousand Island 3
In game two Canton rebounded by topping Thousand Island by the score of 15-3. Tessa Alguire (2-3, 2 doubles and 2 RBI), Elle White (2-4), Jenna Larrabee ( 2-5, HR, 3 RBI) and Layla Clifford (2-3, 1 RBI) all had good days at the plate for the Bears in game two.

Elise Harris (23)
Tessa Alguire picked up the win, throwing a complete game two hitter, striking out 13.
“I was proud of how we rebounded in game two. We played much better defense and we continued to score runs. Tess threw the ball well today striking out a season high 13. Hopefully these two games will help us finish strong in league play next week.” From Coach Wentworth
