White, Alguire Combine To No Hit Sandstoners

Elle White (11), Jenna Larrabee (22) & Tessa Alguire Throw Combined No Hitter

Canton 16  Potsdam 0

The Canton Golden Bears hosted their Route 11 rival on Friday afternoon on Wayne Willette Field in Canton.  The game had to be moved from their main field because of wet field conditions.

Elise Harris (23)

Long time Canton coaching legend Wayne Willette would have loved this game because it featured two of his favorite things; shutouts and No Hitters.  Todays game showcased both along with many hard hits on the offensive end.   Senior Tessa Alguire (2 IP, 4 K’s) and sophomore Elle White (3 IP, 6 K’s) combined for the no hitter.  The two aces only allowed one baserunner in the fourth inning on an error.

“It was only fitting that we had one of those games on Coach’s field.  He would have loved watching Tessa and Elle throw today.  Along with catcher Jenna Larrabee the trio was spot on, getting ahead in the count and throwing strikes.”  From Coach Wentworth

Tessa Alguire went four for four with two triples and a 3 run homerun to lead the offensive attack.  Jenna Larrabee also slapped two hits in the win. Hope Dollman and Elle White both ripped RBI doubles.
