Modified Cross Country Hosts First Meet of the Season

On Sept. 17, the Canton modified cross country team competed in their first meet of the season. Sixteen boys raced in the meet held at Canton Central School. The athletes all raced well, despite the unseasonable heat.

In a tight finish, Zachary Lyndaker placed second with a time of 10:11. Cedric Harper placed third, running an 11:16. In fourth was Parker Smith with a time of 11:46. Elijah Williams placed fifth with a time of 11:57. Callum Parsons was less than a second behind, placing sixth. John Tartakoff placed 11th, running a 13:04. Daniel Noble ran the race in 14:23, placing 12th. William Tartakoff placed 13th with a time of 16:23. Michael Oshier finished 15th with a time of 16:35.

The next race will take place at Tupper Lake on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The team is looking forward to progressing over the course of the rest of the season and achieving new personal records under the coaching of Coach Shannon.
