Modified Track Places Second in Madrid-Waddington Meet

On Monday, May 20, the Canton modified track team competed at Madrid-Waddington Central School against Potsdam, Ogdensburg, Tupper Lake and Madrid-Waddington. 

In the girls 100 meter dash, Mary Abuhassan placed first with a time of 14.50 seconds. Sola Oakley ran the race in 15 seconds, placing second. Elizabeth Metcalf placed third with a time of 15.20 seconds. In fifth was Parker Gallagher with a time of 15.40 seconds. Ella Bradish-Hayes placed tenth with a time of 15.90 seconds. 

In the boys 100 meter dash, John Mitchell placed eighth with a time of 14.40 seconds. Andrew Downing placed 11th, running the race in 15.30 seconds. Ayden Hoyt placed 18th, running the race in 18 seconds.

Melanie Ward placed second with a time of 30.50 seconds in the girls 200 meter dash. Sola Oakley placed third with a time of 31 seconds. Ella Bradish-Hayes placed seventh with a time of 34.30 seconds. JessieJean Coffin ran the race in 35.60 seconds, placing 12th. Isis Casserly placed 19th with a time of 40 seconds.

In the boys 200 meters, Andrew Downing placed ninth with a time of 31.80 seconds. Carson White placed 11th, running the race in 32.10 seconds. Ayden Hoyt placed 20th with a time of 40.70 seconds. 

In the girls 400 meters, Melanie Ward placed fifth with a time of 1:22. Jillian Richardson placed seventh with a time of 1:25.

In the boys 400, Zachary Lyndaker placed fourth with a time of 1:13. Cedric Harper placed fifth with a time of 1:15. In seventh was Finn O’Brien with a time of 1:18. Both Elijah Williams and Parker Smith ran the race in 1:21, tying for eighth.

In the girls 800 meter run, Addison Ragan placed fourth with a time of 3:13. 

Carson White placed second in the boys 800 meters with a time of 2:46. Finn O’Brien placed fifth with a time of 3:15. Elijah Williams placed sixth, running a 3:26.

In the girls 1500 meter run, Sophia Choi placed fourth with a time of 6:39.

Cedric Harper placed second in the boys 1500 with a time of 5:43. Parker Smith placed third with a time of 5:53.

In the girls 55 meter hurdles, Mary Abuhassan placed second with a time of 10.80 seconds. Parker Gallagher placed third with a time of 11.10 seconds. 

In the boys 55 meter hurdles, John Mitchell placed fourth with a time of 11.10 seconds.  

In the girls long jump, Mary Abuhassan placed third with a distance of 12 ft. 7 in. Elizabeth Metcalf placed fourth, jumping 12 ft 1 in. Melanie Ward placed fifth with a distance of 11 ft. 10 in. Parker Gallagher jumped 11 ft. 2 in, placing sixth. Sophia Choi jumped 10 ft. 3 in. and placed 11th. 

In boys long jump, Carson White placed eighth with a jump of 11 ft. 9 in.

Elizabeth Metcalf placed first in the girls triple jump with a distance of 24 ft. 1 in. 

In the boys triple jump, Zachary Lyndaker placed second, jumping 31 ft. 

In boys high jump, Finn O’Brien placed second, jumping 4 ft 4 in. John Mitchell and Andrew Downing tied for fifth with heights of 3 ft 10 in.

JessieJean Coffin placed sixth in girls shot put, throwing 15 ft. 4 in.

In boys discus, John Mitchell placed seventh with a distance of 62 ft. 7 in. Ayden Hoyt placed 11th, throwing 45 ft. 11 in. 

There were three Canton girls 4×100 relay teams. They placed first, third, and sixth. 

Two boys 4×100 teams competed, placing fifth and sixth. 

The Canton 1200 mixed medley relay team placed first with a time of 3:53.

Canton placed second overall.
