Modified Track Travels to Tupper Lake

On Friday, May 17, the Canton modified track team competed at Tupper Lake. Ogdensburg, Tupper Lake, and Norwood-Norfolk also participated in the meet. 

In the girls 100 meter dash, Mary Abuhassan placed first with a time of 14.50 seconds. Sola Oakley placed second with a time of 14.60 seconds. In third was Elizabeth Metcalf, who ran the race in 14.80 seconds. Melanie Ward was right behind with a time of 14.85 seconds. Parker Gallagher placed sixth with a time of 15.00 seconds. Ella Bradish-Hayes ran the race in 17.00 seconds, placing 14th. 

In the boys 100, John Mitchell placed fifth with a time of 14.20 seconds. Andrew Downing ran the race in 14.90 seconds and placed eighth. 

Melanie Ward placed first in the girls 200 meter dash with a time of 30.20 seconds. Sola Oakley placed second, running the race in 30.60 seconds. Ella Bradish-Hayes ran the race in 33.20 seconds, placing seventh. In tenth was JessieJean Coffin with a time of 34.60 seconds. Isis Casserly placed 14th with a time of 37.70 seconds.

In the boys 200 meters, Andrew Downing ran the race in 30.70 seconds, placing seventh. Carson White placed eighth with a time of 31.70 seconds.

In the boys 400 meter dash, Parker Smith placed fifth with a time of 1:17.50. Zachary Lyndaker was right behind with a time of 1:17.80, placing sixth. Finn O’Brien placed seventh with a time of 1:18.

In the girls 800 meter run, Addison Ragan ran the race in 3:17, placing sixth. 

Cedric Harper placed first in the boys 800 with a time of 2:45. Carson White placed second, running a 2:46. Elijah Williams came third with a time of 3:35.

In the girls 1500 meter run, Addison Ragan placed third, running the race in 6:37. Sophia Choi placed fifth with a time of 6:43. 

In the boys 1500 meters, Parker Smith placed second with a time of 6:13. Zachary Lyndaker placed third with a time of 6:31.

Mary Abuhassan placed first in the girls 55 meter hurdles with a time of 10.89 seconds.

In the boys 55 meter hurdles, John Mitchell placed third with a time of 10.90 seconds. 

In girls long jump, Melanie Ward and Mary Abuhassan tied for first with distances of 11 ft. 10 in. Sophia Choi placed fifth with a jump of 11 ft. 1 in. Elizabeth Metcalf placed sixth, jumping 10 ft. 11 in. Parker Gallagher placed seventh with a distance of 9 ft. 7 in. 

In the boys long jump, Carson White paced fifth with a distance of 12 ft. 2 in. 

In boys high jump, Finn O’Brien placed second with a height of 4 ft. 2 in. John Mitchell and Andrew Downing tied for third with jumps of 4 ft. Carson White placed sixth with a jump of 3 ft 6 in. 

Elizabeth Metcalf placed first in the girls triple jump with a distance of 23 ft. 5 in. 

In boys triple jump, Zachary Lyndaker placed third with a jump of 28 ft. 

JessieJean Coffin placed seventh in girls shot put with a throw of 15 ft. 1 in. 

In boys discus, John Mitchell placed seventh with a distance of 50 ft. 2 in. 

There were three girls 4×100 relay teams for Canton that placed first, third, and fifth. 

In the boys 4×100 meter boys relay, the Canton team placed fourth. 

In the 1200 mixed medley relay, Canton placed second.
