Canton Boys Lacrosse Prevail Against Salmon River, Fall To Massena

Canton 12, Salmon 4

In an impressive show of offensive dominance, Canton took down longtime lacrosse rival Salmon River by eight goals.

For the Golden Bears it was not just their offense that was firing on all cylinders, but their defense came up with crucial stops to swing momentum. Goaltender Garritt Palmer continued his hot streak in net making numerous saves to lead his team to victory.

With a hat trick for both Josh and Jonney McLear, the brown and gold proved why they are undefeated in Section X play and a force to be reckoned with come playoff time.

Massena 14, Canton 8

“Massena just played better than us, plain and simple,” said Junior Josh Ayrassian on his team’s performance Monday evening.

The Golden Bears have finally fallen to a Section X opponent for the first time this season. Massena was in charge from the beginning of the game, taking an early lead. This was tough to overcome for the brown and gold as this was a situation they didn’t often find themselves in.

Canton will now use a short memory and move forward to Wednesday at 5:00 pm, where they will face off versus OFA for their home finale.
