In Gouverneur on a cold and wet Tuesday afternoon, Canton 9, Gouverneur 1
The Canton Golden Bears Softball team traveled to Gouverneur to face the undefeated Wildcats in a Central league match up. The young Bears walked away with a 9-1 victory.
“That was a fun one! First time Tessa has thrown in a wet sloppy game like that and she really stepped up and did a great job in tough conditions,” said Coach Wentworth. “Maya had a great game behind the dish today. Saved a lot of runs with her blocking and keeping the ball in front of her. I love the way the entire team battled and rose to the occasion. We came up with some big hits at the right time.”
From the circle, Tessa Alguire struck out 13 and only gave up 3 hits.
Offensively, Aguire, Elle White (2B) and Emma Logan all had two hits in the game.
