Canton 3, Malone 2
Canton Boys hockey finished January with a clutch win versus Malone, after a late goal by their captain.
The Golden Bears faced off against a Section X rival Jan. 31 at home. Both teams started the game with physicality, setting a tone for the reminder of the game.
Canton tallied the first goal, 12 minutes in after a one-timer by Senior Captain Drew Blevins. Malone responded just moments later with a breakaway goal by Liam Davis.
The second period had a similar theme with both teams scoring one goal apiece. This led to a 2-2 deadlock going into the final period.
Canton was on a mission going into the third, having numerous scoring chances, while their goaltender, Gavyn Schryver, made 10 saves to keep his team in it.
After an offensive zone turnover by Malone, Drew Blevins capitalized on the costly mistake and buried the game winner.

Beekmantown 6, Canton 0
The brown and gold opened up the Massena Tournament with a tough loss to The Beekmantown Eagles.
As the puck dropped, Beekmantown came out hot with various offensive attacks, finding the back of the net twice in the first period.
The goals didn’t stop there as The Eagles scored another in the second and three more in the third.

Canton 4, Shenendehowa 3
Canton bounced back in an impressive fashion with a 4-3 win versus The Plainsmen of Shenendehowa.
Senior Jonney McLear found the back of the net first with a wrist shot goal, just above the goaltender’s shoulder. Shenendehowa responded with two goals of their own.
During intermission, Canton knew they were down, but not out.
The Golden Bears came out flying on all cylinders with goals by Drew Blevins and David Seymour.
The Plainsmen eventually found the game tying goal in the third, but the brown and gold were not finished. Freshman Robert Palmer found himself on a breakaway with the game on his stick. Palmer made a forehand-backhand move to deceive the goaltender and tallied his first career goal to lead Canton victory.

Canton 2, Salmon River 0
After a thrilling last-minute win two days prior, The Golden Bears got back to work with a 2-0 shutout win at home.
Canton found themselves controlling the offensive zone with several high danger scoring chances. Senior Reid Doyle Capitalized on one of those chances off of a beautiful pass from Garrit Palmer. Canton ended the first period with 15 shots on the net and a goal to show for it.
The puck dropped for the second period and both teams had many back and forth chances. Canton got the better of these chances with Owen Logan scoring his fifth goal of the season to seal the deal off a beautiful backhand feed at the blue line from David Seymour.
Canton’s goaltender Daniel Creruer recorded his second career shutout with 32 saves.
