The Canton Central JV boys basketball team saw a number of players contribute to their victory last evening versus the visiting Salmon River Shamrocks. The Bears were able to secure the victory despite being plagued by turnovers throughout the game. Coach Porter remarked, ” Salmon River did a nice job of muddying up the game, using pressure and keeping our guys out of rhythm by jumping the passing lanes and applying pressure to the ball. When we decided to value each possession better, we settled in and found some open scoring opportunities.”
Canton was able to see scoring contributions from 12 of the 18 members of the team. Leading the way was Will Andes with 12, Ciaran O’Brien with 9 and Ryan Faunce with 7. Other scoring came from Parker Hurlbut (5), Logan Stiles (5), Dan Richardson (4), Parker Ames (4), Dan O’Neill (3), Ben Kenna (2), James Trombley (2), and Colden Francey and Nate Berkman each scoring 1.
The Bears are on their way to Massena tonight. Game time is slated for 5:30.
