Canton 30, Franklin Academy 22
The Canton girls JV Basketball team took a cold bus ride to Malone on Friday to play the Franklin Academy Huskies and came home with a 30-22 victory.
The Cubs were led by Elle White who had to battle and claw for fourteen points and nine rebounds. Jenna Larrabee was also back in action and put up her usual solid numbers, scoring eight points and hauling down seven rebounds. Elise Harris two points, Ashley Aldous three points and Addison Robert Bogart one point, all put up points for Canton in the win.
“Every time we have played in Malone over the years the first half is a battle until we shake off the bus legs and start to play,” said coach Mike Wentworth. “Offensively today we had to work hard for our baskets. Malone did not make it easy on us at all. Sometimes teams have to grind their way through some games and that is what we had to do today.”
Canton will next be on the court on Tuesday when they will scrimmage Hermon DeKalb before the varsity game. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30.
