Mod. Bears Boys fall to Massena 7-0

Massena, Ny. The Modified boys traveled to Massena Friday night, fought hard, but fell to the Raiders 7-0. The Bears came out in the first with intensity, competing as a unit and establishing their offensive flow early on but Massena’s defense was up to the task, limiting Canton’s offensive chances and keeping themselves in the Bears shooting lanes. Massena’s counter attack led to their first goals. Canton goaltender Sean McCluskey did his best in net, making 15 saves in the first half. Canton’s forwards and midfield did their best to get on the board but the Bears would end the half down 5-0.

In the second half Malachi Conant made his debut as goaltender. Over the 3rd quarter, he made 6 saves over the quarter, allowing one goal. The Bears defense stepped up in the second half, limited scoring opportunities and forcing bad angled shots. In the 4th, Luke Parker made his debut in goal and had a promising quarter himself. Parker recorded 7 saves including a point blank opportunity he deflected out of bounds. The Bears would ultimately fall to Massena 7-0.

The Bears play next at home on Monday, October 16th vs. Malone. Kickoff is schedule for 4:30 pm.
