In Massena on Saturday morning, Canton 2 Massena 0
The Canton boys JV Soccer team traveled to Massena Saturday morning to play the Raiders for the third time this fall. The Bears scored twice in the first half and that was enough for a 2-0 victory.
Sophomore Gavin Schryver had both the goals in the game with Tomi Husinic picking up the assist off a corner kick on the first goal. Zadok Roiger continued to play well picking up 7 saves in the game. This was Roiger’s seventh shutout of the season.
“Our defense was outstanding once again. Scoring goals gets your name in the paper but playing defense keeps you in the game. That has always been the Canton Soccer philosophy, starting with legendary coaches like Roger Dusharm and Wayne Willette and continuing with current varsity coach Matt Caufield. Rosie, Tator, Jimmy and Gavin really take pride in shutting opposing offenses down. We have two big games left next week against Malone and OFA. It will be fun to see how much we have improved over the course of the season.” from Coach Wentworth
Malone will visit Canton on Tuesday. Game Time 4:00pm.
