The Canton varsity volleyball team had its first three-set sweep of the season downing the Gouverneur Wildcats last Thursday night, Sept. 21.
Scores for the game were 25-19, 25-16, 26-16.
The Bears benefited from strong serving combined with multiple offensive threats from several different players.
“We had new players step up tonight and produce big points for our offense. It was great to see younger talent come through since we were missing a few players due to illness,” said Head Coach Carla Wentworth.
The Bears will need to continue their momentum as they begin crossover games next week with the East division. The first home is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 25 with JV tip off at 5p.m. Come support the young Bears as they strive for another victory.
Top performers for the night versus Gouverneur are as follows:
Haley Perrin; 6 kills, 11 points, 6 aces, Calie Klassen; 8 kills, 2 points, Elle White 5 kills, 1 block, 5 points, Laurel Whittier; 1 kill, 11 assists, 11 points, Emma Logan; 2 kills, 5 assists, 3 points
