The Varsity Volleyball team of 2023 is off to a good start with many new team members taking to the court this fall. The team’s record is 2-2 as they begin a full schedule consisting of 18 matches.
The roster is a nice combination of returning veterans and eager young talent ready to join the varsity ranks.
“This team is very athletic and moves well on the court. Their strengths will be defense and team unity,” said head coach Carla Wentworth.
The team roster is as follows: Seniors Emma Logan, Laurel Whittier, Josie Gabriel and Emma Mousaw; Juniors Calie Klassen, Haley Perrin, Cecily Shipman, Marilisa Salvi-Miguel, Ellaina Locey, Maura Onyper, Alexa Romano, Abby Nee, Sophomore Lainey Thornton, and eighth grader Elle White.
The team has played all road games so far due to the construction but will hopefully host a game on Thursday 9/21 against Gouverneur. Please come out to watch the new Bears squad as they defend their Section X title. Game time starts at 5:00 for JV followed by Varsity at 6:30.
