Modified Cross Country Competes at Norwood-Norfolk

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, the Canton modified cross country team ran in their second race of the season at Norwood-Norfolk. It was a cloudy and warm afternoon, with a few raindrops falling.

The race was 1.5 miles long and the athletes played the course out well. The competing teams were Canton, Potsdam, and Norwood.

In both the boys’ and girls’ races there were 19 runners racing. Basil Cheney came in second place and had a time of 10:09. Zachary Lyndaker had a time of 11:24 and came in sixth. Parker Smith was right behind with a time of 11:45, coming in eighth. Cedric Harper placed in 10th with a time of 12:11. In 11th place was Brendan Tood, running a 12:23.

For the girls, Jillian Richardson came in eighth place with a time of 11:51. In 11th place was Addison Ragan, who ran a 13:15. Running the course in 14:10 was Ashlan Foster, who came in 16th. The athletes will run their next meet at Potsdam school and are continuing to train daily.
