Thursday at Ike Noble Fields in Canton: Canton 25, Massena 10

The Bears started off shaky against the Red Raiders of Massena but found their groove after the 1st inning and ran away with the lead.  Shaylee Olmstead and Aida Baker each scored 5 runs for the young bears.  Piper McAllister and Salma Moumen added double hits.  “They were aggressive on the bases and took advantage of pass ball opportunities.   They took the lead in the 5th inning scoring 10 runs and held their momentum until the end” Coach Wentworth said.

Several good defensive plays were made to end scoring threats by the Raiders.  Pitching duties were handled by Marilisa Salvi-Miguel for the first four innings.  Elle White came in as relief in the 5th inning striking out the side.  She closed out the game recording 5 strikeouts and giving up only 1 run.

The Bears will play again at home where they will attempt to defeat the St. Lawrence Central Larries for the 3rd time this year.  First pitch is scheduled for 10:00am.
