On Wednesday afternoon, May 10, in Madrid: Canton 32, Madrid-Waddington 7
The JV Lady Bears were on the road last night where they easily defeated the Yellow Jackets of Madrid-Waddington.

It was a very successful night for the young JV team as every player on the team had at least one hit and scored a run. Several players also contributed extra base hits including doubles by Salma Moumen, Jenna Larrabee, Lainey Thornton, Elle White and Kennedie Hartman. 7th grader, Elle White also belted an in-the-park home run. White, Aida Baker, Shaylee Olmstead and Mia Wilson led the scoring attack, with four runs each.

On the defensive side, pitching duties were split between Elle White, Shaylee Olmstead, and Marilisa Salvi-Miguel. White started in the circle, throwing the first 3 innings, striking out 5. Salvi-Miguel picked up the save pitching two innings striking out 4. Jenna Larrabee turned two double plays for the bears with help from Olmstead at second and Salvi-Migual at first.
Jenna Larrabee and Elle White split time behind the plate sharing catching duties.

“The team was eager to play again after 10 days off due to scheduling conflicts and rain cancellations. They came out fired up in the first inning scoring 19 runs and never looked back. It was nice to see everyone contributing the entire game and improving on game specific strategies.” Coach Wentworth said.
The JV Lady Bears will be back on the diamond tomorrow when they will attempt to earn back-to back wins against Madrid-Waddington . First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
