In Ogdensburg on a wet Tuesday afternoon, April 2: Canton 19,  OFA 0

The Canton Varsity Softball team traveled to Ogdensburg on Tuesday to play against the OFA Blue Devils and came away with a 19-0 victory.

Hadley Alguire, Tessa Alguire, Ava Hoy and Courtney Peters combining for a one hit shutout from the circle.

“We are very lucky to have four quality pitchers. It was fun to see them all throw tonight and be effective. It is very rare to see a Softball team with this much pitching but all four girls can really throw the ball,” said Coach Mike Wentworth.

Sydnee Francis and Olivia Sero paced the Bears at the plate with three hits each. Maya Thomas had an RBI triple that drove in two runs. Hoy and Tessa Alguire also had two hits each with a double in the win.

“I really like the way we are swinging the bat as a team the last couple games,” Wentworth added. “We are going to the plate with a purpose and really starting to attack the softball.”
