On Thursday afternoon, April 27, in Canton at Ike Noble Fields, Canton 20, SLC 8
The JV Lady Bears took on the SLC Larries at home on Thursday night and walked away with the win.
Leading the way was seventh grader Elle White going 4 for 5 with a solo homerun and tallying four runs. Jenna Larrabee went 3 for 5, scoring three runs. Salma Moumen, Shaylee Olmstead and Aida Baker each provided three RBI’s. Lainey Thornton hit a triple and brought in one run.
Marlisa Salvi-Miguel pitched five solid innings, striking out five. Elle White hit the mound for the final two innings and got the save with 3 strike outs, allowing no hits. Catching duties were solidly handled by Jenna Larrabee.
“The team started off slow but kept battling and found their power in the fourth inning scoring five runs and never looked back,” said Coach Carla Wentworth. “Elle White, our seventh grader, was impressive at the plate today hitting the first over-the-fence home run of the season and finishing only a double shy of the cycle. Several players made key defensive plays to stop scoring threats and ended the game with a pick off at third base. Overall, another great game for the entire team showing determination and high energy.”
