Canton 4, Malone 4
The Golden Bears traveled to Malone to battle it out against the Huskies on Friday night. The final score of the contest was 4-4, as the game ended in a tie in a competitive and intense matchup.
The Bears got out to a slow start in this contest, letting up three goals in the first period of play, with one of them scored on the power play by the Huskies. Although Canton had some defensive struggles in the first they were successful on the offensive end to make up some lost ground, netting two goals of their own and making it a 3-2 game with one period of play in the rearview mirror. Both of the goals in the first period were scored by none other than Canton’s Drew Blevins, with the first goal assisted by Garritt Palmer on the power play and the second scored solo.
Canton outscored the Huskies 2-1 in the second period and evened the scoreboard out to an even 4-4. Those goals were scored by Bradley Frank and Jacob Rosales, respectively. The third and what we thought was going to be the last period was scoreless, sending this game to overtime. And in the extra period of play neither team could find the back of the net, ending this game in a 4-4 tie.
The Bears will face off against the Potsdam Sandstoners this coming Wednesday night in Pine Street Arena in a highly anticipated matchup, with the winner advancing the the Section X Championship at Cheel Arena.
