The Canton JV Girls Basketball team stepped on the court Friday night for the first time in seven days and hosted the OFA Blue Devils on an icy night in Canton.
The junior Bears shook off the rust and jumped out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back. The game ended in 42-19 Bears victory. Tessa Alguire led all scorers with 14 points followed up by Sara Aldous was tossed in 10 in the winning cause. “I was proud of how the girls played tonight. Because of the weather it seemed like it has been a long time since we have practiced. They didn’t let that effect them and went out and had some fun”, remarked Coach Mike Wentworth.
The Bears will be back at home again on Saturday in a matinee against Saranac Central. Tip off is scheduled for noon at Jerry Hourihan Gymnasium.
