In Canton Saturday, Saranac Central 36, Canton 29
The Canton Golden Bears Girls JV Basketball team hosted the Saranac Chiefs on Saturday afternoon. The undefeated Chiefs pressured the young Bears for the entire game and came away with a 36-29 victory. Tessa Alguire and Sara Aldous led the Junior Bears in scoring, netting 8 points each.
“They were tough! They pressured us for all 32 minutes and didn’t make anything easy on us. We got in foul trouble early and we hade to make some adjustments but the girls competed and that’s all I can ask for. I think that game will help us going down the stretch”, stated Coach Wentworth.
The girls will travel to Watertown on Tuesday night to tip it up with the South Jeff Spartans. Game time is 5:30, scheduled at JCC.
