In Gouverneur, Canton 16, Gouverneur 32
The JV Girls Basketball team traveled to Gouverneur on Jan. 12 to tip it off with the once-beaten Wildcats. The Cats came away with a 32-16 victory to give the young Bears their first loss of the season. Tessa Alguire led the team in scoring with eight points. Sara Aldous and Salma Moumen chipped in five and two points in the game.
“Tonight Gouverneur was the better team. They played very good. We struggled to put the ball in the basket all night. We played much better in the second half but we just dug to big a hole to make it a game. The girls worked hard but tonight was not or night,” stated Coach Mike Wentworth.
The Bears won’t be in action again until Thursday when OFA comes to town. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30.
