Canton 42, Gouverneur 41

The Bears faced the Wildcats for the third and final time of the regular season on Jan. 12 in Canton and left the gym with the win. This was a highly anticipated matchup and it did not disappoint as the game was back and forth all night and came right down to the wire. This win for the Bears gives them the edge of two wins to one in a series that was originally tied going into the matchup.

The Bears and the Wildcats battled back and forth the entire game, with neither team gaining a lead of seven or more. Junior Center Ayomi Odeytoimbo was the X-Factor yet again for Canton against Gouverneur with multiple key blocks down the stretch and dunks as well that sparked energy on the bench and the fan section.

The fourth quarter was nothing short of entertaining, with each of the teams delivering blows, but both teams yet again hanging in there as the end of the game inched closer. Canton was down by just one point with 13 seconds remaining in the game, and after multiple missed shots and multiple offensive rebounds by the Bears Ethan Francey had possession under the basket off a missed three by the Bears and laid it up and in to send the Wildcats home.
