The Cats jumped out to a 10-6 first quarter lead but the young Bears found their legs and pushed ahead in a battle of two of the better JV teams in the section. Canton finished with a 44-32 win.

Tessa Alguire led all scorers with 14 points and five steals. Sara Aldous netted nine points followed by Haley Burnett and Jenna Larrabee (seven rebounds) with eight and six points in the game.

“The Cats really pushed us to a new level tonight,” said Head Coach Mike Wentworth. “They are one of the better teams we are going to see and we have been gearing up for them for a week. The girls played hard and I love there competitiveness. Those are fun games to play, win or lose.”
