Clinton 2, Canton 1
The Girls Varsity hockey team dropped their first game of the year in a contest against Clinton on Dec. 5 with a final score of 2-1, not in favor of the Bears. Losing a tough game to a solid Clinton team dropped the Bears record to 1-1 on the season.
Unlike the Bears’ first game they struggled on the offensive end, only scoring one goal through all three periods of play. Taylor Stoll was the lone goal scorer for the Bears in the game, with Eliza Creurer assisting on it. Myrah Bullock stood strong in net with 25 saves as she was peppered all game. And although the Bears did not win, it was a solid effort from a young team.
Canton 3, Massena 1
Canton got back into the win column on Dec. 7 night in a hard-fought battle against the Raiders. Canton won the contest with a final score of 3-1 through three periods of play.
Senior Sydnee Francis stole the show for the Bears in the game, scoring all three goals for the Bears and propelling them to the win. Her first goal came 28 seconds into the game and then the second came short-handed and the third was the game-sealing goal to send the Raiders home. Also, Myrah Bullock kept her strong season campaign going with another 25-save night to seal the victory for the Bears and help them jump to 2-1 on the season.
