Canton 2, Tupper Lake 1
The JV Volleyball team traveled to Tupper Lake on Oct. 4 to take on the Lumberjacks. They came out with a solid and very crucial win. Taking home the victory two sets to one.
The Bears got down quickly in this match, losing 25-18 in the first set. But they picked up the pace in the next two sets, winning the second set 25-22 and finishing off the Lumberjacks in the third set with a score of 25-12. Coach Rob Brown was very pleased with how some player played and how the whole team played as a whole.
“Great serving by Haley Perrin was key to the victory along with some other players,” Brown said.
This was a big win for the Bears and a good one to add to the resume.
Canton 2, Clifton Fine 1
Canton picked up their second win of the week as they traveled and took on the Clifton-Fine Eagles on Thursday night. The Bears came out the other side with the victory, winning two sets to one and securing the victory to add to their resume.
Canton started the game a little flat, losing the first set 25-19, but then they kicked it into high gear to win the next set, winning it 27-25. Now the sets are all even at one. The third set began and it was evident that Canton wanted it more and it showed in the score. The Bears ended up winning the third set 25-17 and securing the overall win as well. Coach Rob Brown, who was out last week with an illness, was very pleased with his team at his return.
“The girls stepped it up in the last two sets to get us the victory,” he said.
The Bears had two big wins this week and they look to build off of them as they come back next week.
