If you missed the first day of registration for the fall Canton Hoopsters season, there is still time to sign up. There will be a second day of registration this Saturday, Sept. 24 from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at the High School concession stand.
The cost is $35 per child and $60 for a family. Cash, checks, or Venmo will be accepted.
The 1st and 2nd grade basketball program is run on Saturday mornings from 8-9 a.m. in the Banford School gym. The program is designed to introduce the sport of basketball to children. This is not a competitive atmosphere; it is designed to teach the children basketball skills in a fun and exciting way. The season will run from October 15, 2022-January 21, 2023. The 3rd and 4th grade basketball program is run on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings in the Banford School gym.. The group will be divided into coed teams based on the number of kids that sign up. There will be practices working on skills and drills, and four-on-four games against each other. The main goal of this level is to introduce the kids to game situations while not keeping score. The season runs October 15, 2022-January 21, 2023. The 5th and 6th grade basketball program is split between girls and boys, and runs on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings in the High School and Middle School gyms. The number of teams and actual game schedules depend on the number of players who sign up. Basketball skills, different warm up activities, and games will be played. The 5th and 6th grade house league will run from October 16 to December 14.
