On a wet and muddy afternoon in Canton, the JV boys hosted Massena in a Central Division match up. In the first half the Raiders out shot the Bears 8 shots to 1 but in the second half the young Cubs changed gears. “We were playing a little short handed and I also didn’t feel like we were going hard to the ball in the first half. The second half was much better and it showed on the score board. ” said Coach Mike Wentworth.
With five minutes left in the game Josh McLear slide one across to Gavin Schryver who banged it home for the score. That was the only goal of the game as the Bears won their seventh game of the year by the score of 1-0.
Zadok Roiger made 12 saves in the winning cause.
The Bears are home again on a Friday when they host the Potsdam Sandstoners for Hall of Fame weekend in a 4:00 start.
