In Canton on a cool Wednesday afternoon: Canton 2, OFA 1
The JV Boys Soccer team (5-0) hosted the Ogdensburg Blue Devils in what would be another very physical game.
“Whenever we play Ogdensburg, it is always a battle,” said Coach Mike Wentworth. “I was very proud of how well the boys played in a very physical game.”
The Bears were without leading scorer, eighth grade striker Will Andes who has been out for the last couple days. The Bears still scored first when eighth grader Grady Nee punched one in. Nee scored again in the second half to push the score to 2-1 and that is how the game finished up.
“Our defense has been so good all year. These guys take pride in shutting teams down,” Wentworth said.
The young Bears will be back in action on Saturday morning when they make the trip to Malone to face the Huskies.

The young Bears again played a strong defensive game anchored by Paul Redfern, JJ Ahlfeld, Daniel Creurer, Caleb Hartmann, and Goalie, Zadok Roiger. The Canton offense had numerous chances to score but just couldn’t connect. The only goal of the game was scored by Caleb Hartmann in the second half on a penalty shot to give Canton the victory.
“We will get better offensively. We have a lot of young guys playing up front for us. They are all very athletic and working hard so I know good will start to come soon,” said Coach Mike Wentworth
