In Canton at the Ike Noble Fields on Wednesday, Canton 20, Malone 1

Nine different players accounted for 19 hits as the Canton Modified Baseball team exploded for a 20-1 win over Malone at home Wednesday.

The Bears (5-0) also reached base on five walks and six Malone errors, three times scoring the maximum five runs in an inning.

Charlie Todd led the hit parade going 4-for-5 with a home run in his second straight game. He scored four runs and had four runs batted in. Paul Redfern was 3-for-5 with four runs and Jackson Ames was 3-for-4 with four runs and three RBI.

Zadok Roiger reached base four times with one hit and also scored four runs. Gavin Schryver was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Shoham Zuker was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. JJ Ahlfeld, John Gidney and Nate Gidney also had hits.

Todd started on the mound and went four innings for the win. He gave up one unearned run in the second inning, allowing one hit to go with one walk and six strikeouts. Redfern pitched two innings and gave up one hit with two walks and three strikeouts. Ames pitched the final inning, giving up a hit before striking out the last two batters.

The Bears travel to Gouverneur Friday at 4:30 p.m. and then play at Potsdam Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
