In Lowville on Thursday evening; Canton 16,  Lowville 1

The Canton Girls Varsity Softball team traveled to Lowville on Thursday to play the Red Raiders on their unique turf field.  The Bears came home with a 16-1 victory.  “It was a great experience to play on a field like that.  I think the girls had fun and the win was a bonus.”  stated Coach Mike Wentworth.

  Hadley Alguire started the game in the circle  and pitched six innings, striking out eight.  Ava Hoy closed the game out and picked up the save, striking out three.

  Offensively the Bears were led by the DeCoteau sisters.  Cate went 2-4 with a triple and three RBI’s.  Lucy went 2-5 with an RBI.  Alyssa Jacob also went 2-3 with 2 big  RBI’s. Alguire hit a two run Homerun in the first inning to jump start the Bears offense.

  Canton will be at home on Friday at Ike Noble field when they will see the Franklin Academy Huskies.  First pitch is scheduled for 4:30pm.
