The Canton Varsity Baseball team suffered its first defeat at the hands of the Gouverneur Wildcats, 2-0. Canton’s problem was that they could not hit the ball, and stranded runners in scoring position.

Unfortunately for the Bears, two defensive errors cost them two runs. This is something that the Bears will look to improve on in upcoming games. Canton’s pitching is one of its strengths, and David Zuhlsdorf and Tanner Hazeton both allowed Canton to have an opportunity to win the game.

Canton will play Wednesday at home against Malone, and Thursday at home against Carthage.
