The Canton Girls Varsity Softball faced off with the Softball powerhouse St. Lawrence Central Larries on Tuesday at Ike Noble fields. The Bears came away with a 5-0 victory in a very well played central division match up.
Hadley Alguire started the game in the circle throwing three innings and only giving up one hit and striking out three. Ava Hoy closed the game throwing the last four innings, striking out eight batters and only allowing one hit in the combined two hitter. Offensively , the Bears were led by Alguire who went 2-3 with 2 RBI’s and Lucy DeCoteau who also went 2-3 with one RBI.
“Tonight our pitching and defense was outstanding! It was nice to see the improvements from the night before and I liked to seeing the girls competitive at the plate with two strikes.”
The Bears are scheduled to play again on Saturday against the Malone Huskies. First pitch is scheduled for 10am at Franklin Academy.
