JV Setters Defeat Jackets

The Bears JV volleyball team took a bus ride to Madrid-Waddington to face the Yellow Jackets on Monday night. The Bears were facing Mad-Wad for the first time this season, they did not know what to expect, but came out on top winning the first set 25-8, the second set 25-18, and losing the third set 20-25.

In the first set of the game the Bears came together and played very well. Josie Gabriel had strong serving to lead the Bears to the 25-8 win.

In the second set the Bears got off the a slower start but were able to get it back still beating the Jackets 25-18, and winning the game

The third set was close all the way through, but the Bears could not hang on for the win. The hard fought set went to the Jackets with the 20-25 win. 

Stat leaders on the night included Josie Gabriel with 4 kills, 1 assist, 1 dig, 9 aces, and 6 points served. Laurel Whittier contributed 6 kills and 5 assists. Katie Metcalf had 4 kills, 2 assists, 2 aces, and served 3 total points. Emma Logan with 1 kills, 3 assists, 2 aces, and a total of 7 service points. 

Come support the Bears in the last game of their season. Home on Wednesday October 27, 2021 against Madrid Waddington at 5pm.

Josie Gabriel has been an outstanding server for the JV Bears this fall!
