Another Win For Canton Volleyball As Regular Season Winds Down

The Golden Bears varsity volleyball team beat the Potsdam Sandstoners at home on Friday evening, posting scores of 25-21, 25-15 and 25-5. Potsdam started strong but Canton is best when they are pushed by the other team.

Hitter Katie Bennett had 12 kills, 3 aces, 3 blocks, and 2 points served. Hitter Ava Hoy handed out 7 kills, a block, a dig and served up 6 points. Middle hitter Julianna Richardson had 7 kills, an ace and a dig.

Outside hitter Riley Taylor had a serving run, adding 17 serving points and also had 2 aces. Setter Mattigan Porter contributed 24 assists, 3 aces, 2 digs and added 6 serving points.

Canton is hoping to close out their regular season unbeaten, with just two more games on their schedule. The Bears are back at it again this evening when they head to Madrid-Waddington for a 7:00 pm game.

Tuesday the girls are at home to play Clifton-Fine for Senior Night in what will cap off an amazing season. After returning to the court after the pandemic, the team has more than made up for lost time.
