On a brisk yet beautiful afternoon on the John Oliver the Field, the Canton Golden Bears Varsity Football team was able to defeat the Potsdam Sandstoners by a score of 48-6. Prior to the game the Canton Senior team members were recognized for their commitment to their families, their academics and the football program. Senior Zach VanBrocklin lead all rushers on the day with 282 yards on the ground and 4 touchdown. Collin Parmeter crossed the line for a pair of TD’s and also had a tremendous day rushing for nearly 100 yards and Gavin Thompson tallied the final TD by catching a screen pass inside the red zone of the Stoners. The coaches would like to thank the players and their families for all of the encouragement and support throughout the years. These young men will be missed and never forgotten.
The Bears will face the Watertown Cyclone in Watertown on Friday November 5th. Kick-off for this Class A Championship contest is slated for 6:00 p.m.
