The Bears varsity volleyball hung on to their winning streak Thursday evening in a road game against OFA Blue Devils, but OFA did not go down without a fight. After losing the first set 25-8, the Blue Devils returned with a mission. They met the Bears tenacity and kept the score close in the remaining three sets. Canton though, is tough to beat, and always seem to bounce back when they are behind. Their strength in serving, rallying and defensive plays from several players makes it tough for any opponent. OFA lost their second set 25-21, won the third 25-21, then fell to Canton in the fourth set 25-17. Canton worked hard to come back and did what was needed to take the win.

Outside hitters Ava Hoy and Katie Bennett were strong contributors to the win. Hoy had 7 kills, 14 aces, 2 digs and 17 serving points and Bennett supplied 19 kills, 4 blocks, 2 digs, and served up 5 points. Middle hitter Julianna Richardson also handed out 4 kills. Riley Taylor served up 6 points and also supplied 1 kill, 1 ace and a couple of digs. Setter Mattigan Porter tallied 29 assists and served up 5 points.
The girls are back at it again tonight with a home game against Potsdam. The game starts at 6:15 pm. Come out to support The Bears and help them continue their winning season.
