The Bears suffered a tough loss on Wednesday night to the Malone Huskies. Losing all three sets and the game, 22-25, 19-25, and 21-25.
The first set got off to a slow start for the Bears. Malone had strong servers that the Bears were not receiving well. Then the Bears began to play their game and fight back. They did so with strong serving by Katie Metcalf. Halfway through the first set the score was tied 15-15, it was anyone’s game. After that it was a battle, with Malone winning the close match 22-25.

During the second set the Bears looked to come off the tough loss and come back to win the game. They again kept the set close all the way through, but ultimately lost 19-25.
The third set began with the Bears already losing the game, but they still wanted to win at least one set. Once again it was a close set all the way through, but the Bears could not hold on losing 22-25.
Key contributors to the game were Katie Metcalf with 10 points served, 5 aces, and 2 kills. Laurel Whittier with 1 kill. 2 assists, 2 aces and 9 total points served. Zoey Mattice with 1 block, 1 kill, 1 ace, and 2 points served. Emma Logan with 1 assist, 1 ace, and 3 total points served.
This was the team’s first loss of the season. Although this was a tough loss, the Bears look to come back strong as they play the Huskies again in Malone on Friday October 8th.
