Canton outscored Gouverneur 14-3 to stay atop of the NAC Central Division. Hadley Alguire struck out six, pitching a complete game win and went 4-5 at the plate. Cate DeCoteau drilled three doubles while going 4-5 at the plate. Younger sister, Lucy DeCoteau went 2-4 with a triple and Natalie Warner and Hailey Jordan each added two hits for the Golden Bears. Raelin Burns went 3-4 with a double leading the Wildcats.
“Gouverneur is a much improved team from when we saw them earlier this season. Today we swung the bats very well and got a few breaks early in the game. Cate DeCoteau was in a zone at the plate and Natalie Warner played very well, filling in at second base today. I think she has now played four different positions for us this season and she always seems to make an impact anyplace we put her.” said Canton Coach Mike Wentworth. The Bears will be back at it on Friday morning as they will make the short trip down route 11 to face the Potsdam Sandstoners. The “Brunch Ballgame” is scheduled for 11:00am.

Courtney Peters pitched the complete game for the Bears going 3-3 at the plate and striking out seven from the circle. The junior Bears will be back on the Diamond Friday morning as they will travel to Madrid Waddington to face the Yellow Jackets. Game time is 9:00am
