The Canton boys varsity lacrosse team jumped out to a hot start and never looked back as they defeated Potsdam 20-7 Monday afternoon.
Every player on the Bears roster once again logged solid minutes in the win, and the fresh legs carried Canton in all aspects of play.
Senior midfielder Dalton Francis recorded his first career varsity goal, while his younger brother sophomore Cody Francis was solid at the face off X all game.
Four attackmen saw action in the game, with junior Daniel Mahoney contributing nine points, senior Aiden Hoose adding six points, sophomore Nolan Bombard burying four goals, and senior Charles Grandaw netting two.
Canton’s midfield was extremely productive as well, with five different midfielders finding the back of the net. Adding to Francis’ goal were two by senior Colin Taylor who also had an assist, while sophomore Cade Chezum tallied one goal and one assist. Senior Trey Bessette and junior Michael Shwartfigure buried one goal each, and sophomore Josh Aldous also added an assist.
Hayden Todd finished the day with 6 saves and earned another league win.
Canton is back in action on Wednesday May 26 at Massena at 7:00 p.m.
