The Canton Girls Softball team continued their winning ways on Wednesday as Hadley Alguire pitched a five-inning perfect game in a 15-0 victory over Potsdam. Alguire struck out seven as the 7-1 Bears climbed to 4-0 in the NAC Central. Lexi Huiatt secured the perfect game with a leaping catch at shortstop on a line drive by Karley Green in the top of the fifth inning. (Cover: Bree Rogers hits)

Emily Wentworth led the Bears offensive effort belting two doubles and a fence-clearing homerun. Brooke Larrabee doubled and tripled, Alguire doubled twice going 2-for-2 and Sydnee Francis singled twice.
“Hadley had great command of all her pitches and catcher Cate DeCoteau called a great game behind the dish. Our team defense was once again very good,” said Canton Coach Mike Wentworth.

Other Canton hits were: a triple by Lexi Huiatt and singles by Alyssa Jacobs and Megan Davis. The Bears will hit the road on Thursday as they head to Franklin Academy to face off with the undefeated Huskies. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00.
