It was a tough start for the Golden Bears as they went down 7-0 early in the first half. The Bears showed their resiliency as junior Daniel Mahoney got the Bears on the board off an assist from senior Aiden Hoose. The momentum carried on as senior Charlie Grandaw cruised one passed the goaltender bringing the Bears to 7-2. In the third quarter, senior Trey Bessette scored one of his own, cutting the lead to 4.
The Bears defense in the second half was stout, allowing no goals and forcing turnovers all over the field. Twice in the second half the Bears were forced to play two men down after taking penalties. Both times the defense held strong, allowing no goals and giving up minimal shots. The Bears would eventually run out of time on their comeback, falling 7-3.
