It has been too long since our wrestlers have unrolled the mats, dusted off the shoes and strapped on the headgear but this Wednesday it begins!! The first league match will take place in the home of perennial wrestling powerhouse Gouverneur. The first whistle will begin the wrestling at 6:00 pm.
The Bears line-up includes a small but talented group including; Michael Cogdill (10), Nick Locy (10), Kaleb Hamilton (11), Collin Parmeter (11), and senior leaders Brock Francis (12), Hunter Blauvelt (12) and Matt Haycook (12).
Wrestling continues to be deemed a high risk sport and considering that it is being held indoors, spectators will continued to not be allowed in the venues. Additional safety measures have been implemented to mitigate the risk to wrestlers, officials and coaches so that wrestling can continue throughout the course of the spring season.
For those who would still like to watch, the match is being streamed via the NFHS Network. The Bears will next travel to Massena on May 19 and will be at home on June 9th.
