The Canton girls volleyball team ended its season last night with a win over Potsdam.
It was Senior night and the team held a recognition ceremony for the Seniors following the game. Despite the short season the Bears have consistently developed better rhythm within their play and improved upon their skills. The team served very well with Riley Talor serving 16 in a row to close out the third set. Mattigan Porter also joined the serve attack with a 15 service points and 7 aces. The Hoy sisters (Maddie, Ava) controlled the net with 6 and 4 kills respectively. Katie Bennent was steady, leading the team with 7 kills and 4 digs. Senior Meredith Jones made her last game memorable by putting down 5 kills. Accurate passing from back row players Jade Stevenson, Alyssa Jacob and Megan Davis helped the team stay in control of the match for a majority of the time.
The Bears look forward to the Fall season where they will pick up where they left off and look to challenge for another Section X Championship.
