Canton 55 Potsdam 19 The Canton Girls JV Basketball team hopped on a bus and traveled down Route 11 to face off with rival Potsdam Sandstoners on Tuesday evening. The Bears used a tenacious man to man trapping defense to take control of the game early and never look back. Leading all scorers was sophomore Etta Coburn who tickled the twin with 15 points. Rounding out the scoring for the young Bears was Hadley Alguire, Calie Klassen and Winnie Downs all with seven points. Vivian Coburn and Lindsey Filiatrault also chipped in six points in the winning cause.
Canton will be in action again on Sunday afternoon as they will face off with the Heuvelton Bulldogs at 1:00 in Jerry Hourihan Gymnasium. You can catch all the action on the NFHS Network.
