The Canton girls modified basketball team split with Salmon River Central School on February 3 in Canton. The eighth-grade team won 19-9 and the seventh graders dropped a 23-20 decision to the Shamrocks.
Josie Gabriel led the eighth-grade team with nine points. Stella Shipman added four points. Katie Metcalf had three points, and Laurel Whittier, Vivian Coburn, and Ava Ames each had one point.
Haley Burnett and Winnie Downs each dropped in six points to lead the seventh graders. Sara Aldous and Cecily Shipman contributed four points apiece.
