Canton Girls XC Win At Sectionals, Boys Second Place

On Thursday, The Varsity XC team went to sectionals and preformed the best they have so far this season. The race was in Gouverneur and it was cold and snowy. There was lots of mud and obstacles on the course. The first 3 finishers for Class B were all from Canton and the top 7 runners for the girls will be going to states. Maria Allen(12) and Emily Pandel(11) both passed a girl from Malone giving them the win. For the boys Nick Lyndaker(10) came in first overall and Robert Reed(12) came in 3 overall. The boys were beaten by Norwood and both Nick and Robert will be attending States. Coach Boettcher said ” I couldn’t be prouder of how amazing everyone did this season and that is one of the best so far”. States will be next Saturday in Plattsburgh during the day.
