On Tuesday, Canton faced Malone, Potsdam, Norwood-Norfolk, Massena, and other schools on the cross-country course at Malone.
The varsity girls came in first with three girls absent from the meet. Junior Lydia Kennedy fared well with a time of 23:48.
The boys team came in third overall tying with Potsdam even with person not competing. Senior Robert Reed came in third with an amazing time of 18:25. Coach Boettcher said after the race that he was impressed with everyone’s times and looking forward to are next meet.
The next meet is in Potsdam at 4 p.m. next Tuesday. It will be the last modified race and the varsity will have more.
